Dear Mr. Hitchcock...

Were it not for you, I would not appreciate the view from my rear front window quite so much.

  1. Is that really your view? I love it!

  2. Mr. Hitchcock gives us a lot to be thankful for. Remember to close your blinds.

  3. It's sort of cool. Two old factories three story factories converted to apartmments. Our landlord owns the one that is directly next door to this one.

Alan - I have not only put up blinds, but drapes as well. Without them it feels like being in Bloomingdales window display. Worse yet, it's not only the view from the media room, but my bedrooom. EEK.

  4. I have a deep fondness for lives glimpsed at night through lit windows. Even if all I can see are two planes at right angles to each other, the corner of a framed painting, the shadow of ceiling fan blades sliding by, I am off into a story of the life lived in that room.

    Lovely, provocative photo.

  5. For a moment there I thought you were living across from the White House.

  6. Nance, you put into words what I could only feel through a photo, Thank You.

Robert - Nope, it's really the HOOD, though a nice one.

  7. I'll admit, I love peeking into bare windows at night. Last year we were walking through a lovely, obviously very wealthy section of Manhattan across from Central Park, making our way back to the parking garage after a lovely holiday outing in December, and I was amazed at how beautiful those old brownstones were inside...It figured though, as they were gorgeous from the outside also! It's fun to peek...as long as it's just for a second or two! ;)
