REST IN PEACE DEAR MURRAY

You were with us for less than a year, yet you stole our hearts with your sweet disposition and most polite behaviour.  We never expected you to leave us so soon when we grabbed you out of the mulch pile you were born in with your sisters and brother, while being mauled by your mother attempting to stop us. It was always our experience the runt turns into the strongest, as did your cousin Edgar, and your aunt,  my daughter Julie.  But you were always so small, with respiratory infections that would never seem to abate despite nearly continual antibiotics.  These last weeks with you have been heaven and hell.  Watching you try to rally, one day being up and about, the next having to be carried back to your heating pad, because you would not, no matter how weak, fail to crawl to the litter box, even when you collapsed halfway back to your bed.   We loved you with our very souls, and know that you are now with all the others we still mourn in that corner of our hearts that never forget the unconditional love of our animals.

  4. Dear Mom,
I have asked Dad to type this for me as my paws are to big for the keyboard.
Dad has kept aunt Sweet-Pea and I up to date on my brother Murray's condition and now his passing.I was very sad last night after Dad told us and spent most if the night in his arms.(i could tell he was sad also)
I just want you and your followers to know what a kind and compassionate Mom you are.The sacrifices you make both in time and money for all of us.The lives you have saved like my Aunt Sweet-Pea and Edger. After our cat mom was not such a good mom you took us in made sure that we ate well and had lots of love given to us.
I remember how you use to tell us it was time to go to bed and we would follow you as a group into the bedroom.Murray could not have had a better chance at making it.
I have to close now because it's time for my nap.We all love you and thank you Mom...................Lucy

  5. There is a pic of poor Murray in Total Disastor + 1 at the end, the day he came home from the hospital and we held such high hopes. My dear vet was kind enough not to tell us he didn't think Murray would make it at that point. Apparently he was always ill due to being anemic, but was never strong enough to withstand tests, so I guess he was born with an anomaly that would take him from us in the end. An hour before he left, he lifted his head and looked at me as if to say he was sorry, but he was just to tired to struggle any longer. The Great Gatsby washed his face, and his brother sat with me until the end.

  11. I'm catching up here...
I'm so sorry to hear this. Our furry family members have access to a place in our hearts that humans can't get to. We went through this last year with my best buddy. I loved that boy so much... I still can't talk (or type) about it without getting misty... We just took in our latest rescue yesterday (our fourth).
    Four cats and I'm allergic...

  12. Dear you Pat. I'm dreading taking my sd card to download pics for the blog (computer guy still MIA, I'm afraid he may have lost his cat as well, don't dare call...). There are going to be pics of Murray and I'm not getting over it easily. You are my hero, allergic and rescues = HEROIC.
