DUMPSTER DIVING

                                                                     This is Murray.

He is one of the most polite and personable cats I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  He is a Farm Cat Kitten. He is gorgeous and it should not be a problem finding the perfect home for him.  But it is.  The problem is that he and his brother have been together since day one, are extremely attached to one another, and need to go as litter-mates.

                                                    This is Precious, his brother.

Would you just look at that face, those big, baby-doll eyes all sweetness and light.  Precious is the problem.  For no reason he is always under the belief that he will starve within the next two minutes and must be on the alert for anything edible.  He can hear a coffee cup being placed on an end table from three rooms away. Turn one's head for a moment, and the next thing one hears is slurping. This would be because Precious has his head totally in the coffee cup and is the process of trying to gulp it all down before he gets caught.    He is also capable of hearing something being dropped in the kitchen trash while in a deep sleep.

He has Dumpster-diving down to a fine art.  He hooks those hind legs on either side of the opening anchoring his body.  He is then free to peruse what is in the can at his leisure.  If he were a person he would grow up like me and hoard food while on vacations.

I really need to find a more secure kitchen trash container.

  2. I also LOVE that butt shot. He's got it down to a science. I sure hope the two of them can find the home that deserves them... they are wonderful. Hugs to all of you, and long purry pets, too.

  4. Yea Murray. The trash scavenging shot is fantastic--we have a dog that would love to be taught how to do that.

  5. "I really need to find a more secure kitchen trash container"

And if you did he would just find a way to open it Ha Ha

Looks like a wonderful pair of kittens to make for a Happy Home.

  6. I wonder if you rigged up a bin that popped out a single kibble at random moments and went "ding" every time if you could wear the little bugger out.

  7. Our little cat, Angelina, was totally bonded to Nancy. I usually got home from work before her and Angelina would hang out with me while I checked e-mail. But, when she heard the garage door open, she knew that Nancy was home. She would go by the door to the garage and meow until Nancy came in. Then she would have to sit down so Angelina could sit next to her. That little cat loved Nancy. We miss her.

  8. Robert - I thought of you when we discovered one of the little black farm kittens is nearly blind. Apparently he can see only shadows, more than likely the reason it has been hard to make him/her personable. So far I am the only one it will sit with, sigh, you know where this is going to go....

Murr - Ahh, an attempt to classically condition a cat! Were it not for the fact that they have me trained I'd try something along those lines... Its just that when they look at me with all that trust and unconditional love I totally melt.

Jimmy - Yes they would. Like Bob took spagetti out for me this evening. Right out of the cabinet. Precious was trying to eat a peice, while the others sat there as if to say, "Cmon' Bob, we know you know where the treats are, we want THOSE."

  10. They are both precious! I love cats and have three house cats myself, plus a stray who's always here. She's got a cat house outside and gets 3 meals a day. We worry more about her (Tiger Girl) than we do our inside kitties, but I fear if I bring her in, one of my cats will have a nervous breakdown! :)
